Following an early-morning pickup (at a time that suits your schedule: 7 AM, 8 AM, 9 AM, or 10 AM depending on your arrival and departure plans) from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, take a picturesque drive toward Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tizi n’Tichka pass.
After enjoying a leisurely lunch break in Ouarzazate, proceed to Agdez, a peaceful oasis. Travel through the magnificent Draa Valley, admiring the fortified Kasbahs along the way as you pass through groves of date and palm trees. The valley offers spectacular views of ancient architecture and traditional Berber villages.
When you arrive in Zagora, meet your camel caravan and take a one-hour ride over the sand dunes to witness the magnificent desert sunset. Arrive just before dark and make your way to your camp in the Sahara Desert as night falls. After settling into your private tent, spend some time relaxing and taking in the surrounding desert vista. Dinner will be served outside around a campfire with entertainment provided by your nomadic hosts with traditional Berber music.
Get up early to experience the magical dawn over the desert – this is optional but highly recommended. Watch as the sun rises over the dunes, painting the landscape in golden hues. After that, enjoy a substantial breakfast before getting back on your camel and riding back to the main road.
Here is where your private minibus is waiting, ready to take you on a charming journey to the Ait Ben Haddou world heritage village. This village has the allure of a bygone era and is well-known for serving as the setting for multiple Hollywood epics. It’s also preferred for photo shoots by worldwide fashion publications and agencies.
Explore the Kasbah at your own tempo, pausing for a leisurely lunch. After that, take in the breathtaking drive back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, with an estimated drop-off time of 6:00 PM at your hotel or riad.
